Junk Wax Gems 
Just wondered if any one knew about any errors in the 1993 Pro Set Power Updates. I just bought some jumbo packs and pulled a Smith and Sanders Power Prism Combo and the back of the card seems to be upside down and is numbered 1. Then I pulled a Rison, Haynes, Pritchard, Hill Prism Combo the back was right side up and was number PC1. Didnt know if this was an error or not. Pulled a couple different Prism Combos that where also number the same way as Smith and Sanders with the upside down backs. Dont know alot about these cards, so not sure what they are.

Looking through my 1991 Pro Set cards, I came across my Tim Brown Heisman Hero (Card #40) with no copyright information on the back of the card. NFLPA and Pro set logo, but no copyright. Can’t seem to find any info on the error anywhere. Do I have a find?
It’s an uncorrected error UER, all copies are like this.
P.S. I also went through my 88 topps baseball set after reading your post and found it bizarre. several of my photos were completely out of focus as if the paper shifted during the coloring step of printing. My John Kruk is f’d for accuracy’s sake. I searched around for a non factory Kruk and it was pristine. Frank Viola, the same way. Many cards have dot sections missing (reciprocal of the Jeff Reardon type error). Very odd. Can my set be an error? no, right. not all cards come from the same printing. Thanks for your blog and any info you have on my error set.

i was in the errors/variations list above, an saw the knox comes in a cyan variation. i was recently told there was a green as well. what is that all about?
I have a Darion Connor error. It has 1990, but the NFC logo is blue instead of purple and the red stat lines are all broken. I can supply pics, but this appears to be another error for this list.
Just digging through some 1991 Pro Set cards and came across 3 cards with a black stamp across the back “Special Promotional Sample” Cards are 122 Clay Matthews, 191 Howie Long, and 310 Harry Hamilton. Any ideas?
Yes, these were issued at the 12th National Sports Collectors Convention in Anaheim by Pro Set, Inc. It is unknown if the entire series 1 set was stamped or how many of each player exist. They are very scarce, with just a few samples having shown up to date: Rocket Ismail, Randall Cunningham and Ty Detmer are confirmed to exist. I’ll add your finds to the master checklist. Thank you!

I think I have found a variation on the #347 NFL Newsreel 1990 NFL Teacher of the Year card. It probably isn’t considered a variation, it looks miscut. I would love to send someone some pictures to take a look at it. I just came into this large box of 1990 and 1991 Pro Set from my Dads things. I’m having some fun going through these. But I have a lot of questions too.
Miscuts are not included in my error/variations lists. This is mentioned in the about/info page and at the heading of most “ongoing checklist” posts.
With the 1991 pro set world league cards were Macalister and Elkins pack issued as I received both of mine in the world bowl combo set, also with Marino think NNO promo is that the Dallas public service card or regular card nno
The Marino is the Dallas Public Service card. I understand that the Elkins and McCallister were issued in World Bowl sets but more than one Pro Set collector mentioned to me that the cards were produced by Pro Set as replacements for the Maye and Bennett cards due them not making their teams/starting in the Bowl.
Thanks for the info on the world league cards, never saw them in packs but will keep an eye out for them, as for the Marino I only need the Munoz for that set, there’s one on eBay but a bit pricey the way the Aussie dollar is at the moment Regards Wayne
